Stopped by on our way to Monterrey from the East bay, for a quick brunch/breakfast. So glad that we did! The QR code is how you order. Once we ordered, the food came out pretty quickly! -shumai: decent and juicy -hargow: tasty and typical better than most but not the best -chicken wings: these were good and crispy! -shrimp rice noodle roll: this is what they're known for this was very good! -pork and gold preserved egg congee with added preserved egg: this was AMAZING, Iloved it and didn't need to add more egg, they had SO much already in it! 10/10 - chicken feet with herbs: very herby version of the chicken feet! My parents, especially my mom loved this, she even drank the soup. You have to really like that medicinal herby chinese soup to like this. I think it's a very well made dish with lots of depth, and collagen/cartilage is good for you. I would say this is a 10/10 but you have to LIKE this flavor. It's an acquired taste. I hope Iget to visit this place again- the congee itself is worth it for me!

I LOVE THIS PLACE. The interior is a bit on the smaller side, but there's nothing wrong with that of course! I'm glad to be able to come here, since it's never too busy and I'm always able to get a walk-in seating. The food is amazing, never fails to fill me up, and most surprising of all, it is insanely cheap! It's very rare to find great places like these, where the food is amazing, the price is more than fair, and the service is awesome. I always leave a big tip whenever I come here (around 30%) since I feel like the restaurant deserves more, and the waitress always come out with free tea to show their gratitude. Must try!

Ordered takeout here the other day bc my gf had her wisdom tooth taken out, and these rice rolls were perfect for her to eat! Their buns with condensed milk are sooo yummy you have to get them as well! I always get the shrimp rice noodle rolls from here. The ladies working are always nice and accommodating, and the food comes out rather quickly! There's a good amount of seating in here, and i find that hole in the wall restaurants serve the best food :)

It is a very small place. We got there about 11 and got to sit down after a couple of minutes after we got there, but seems like we lucked out because after we sat down, the line got long. It's pretty easy to order -- you can scan the QR code at the table or order through the server. We decided to do it through the code and the wait was pretty short. We ordered the pork and duck egg porridge, beef and shrimp rice roll, siu mai, rice in lotus leaf and pork bun. All of the dishes came out piping hot and fresh. We enjoyed every dish. We even came out with leftovers. Overall, the restaurant was clean and service was good. I would definitely come back.

When my son had sports practice in Milpitas earlier this year, we were always looking for new places to eat so we don't end up eating at the same place every time. We found this place on Yelp and I was super excited to try it because they serve dim sum items! We ordered a bunch of items...perhaps I overdid because I was too excited: - egg custard buns - shiu mai - taro dumplings - steamed BBQ buns - scallop with shrimp dumplings - marinated pork with corn rice noodle rolls - HK style milk tea - soy milk I really liked everything we ordered except the taro dumplings...I somehow was under the impression that it would be a sweet/dessert item but it ended up being the savory kind (which I'm not a big fan of). Definitely would keep this place on my radar because it's not everyday you can get dim sum items for dinner!

Absolutely heartwarming and soul filling food at an amazing price and with great service. The congee is plentiful and tastes amazing on its own and even better with meat add ins. I'd definitely recommend adding an egg to your meal. The food is so affordable, at less than $10 per bowl of congee. It comes out quickly and is fresh and hot. I can't describe just how reminiscent of my childhood taking the first bite of congee was. It is so similar to lugaw, a Filipino dish that was one of my favorites that my grandma would make weekly. The staff were friendly, but the ordering process largely takes place without them and with a QR code. Payment is a bit confusing, as there is no option to do it on the online order page, and you have to go up to the register instead.

The best place for rice noodles and porridge at such a cheap price. Ever since my bf and I went to Chinatown in NY, we've been craving shrimp rice noodles. I came with two other people and got seated right away. We ordered 2 rolls, 2 shui mai, haw gow, and 1 congee and it was enough for us. My friend generally buys the shrmip rice noodle roll for me whenever she comes here and was the one who introduced me to this place. Cheap good eats. I do want to try the hong kong style milk tea next time I come.

I love Chang Fen especially the shrimp one. We had this place bookmarked forever. Located in a big strip mall - plenty of parking. There is a kiosk for you to place yourself on the waitlist - quoted 25 mins. They text you when it's getting close so you can make yourself back. So easy. We didn't wait 25 minutes. Maybe 15minutes. Super fast and efficient - really fast turn over so the wait goes fast. You can order via QR code or with them. The food comes out fast but I noted it wasn't burning your mouth hot which I appreciated. All the change fen is so soft. We also ordered a couple dumplings and they were made so well. The shrimp porridge was the perfect consistency and favored well. Our toddler loved it - she had more than half of the porridge. Milk tea - we got the hot - not super sweet.

Came here for brunch with Allen and his parents! This place gets packed once it's peak dim sum time. Everything is reasonably priced, and the portion side was good. I would totally get the Chang Fen again, there are a ton of different options and all are pretty good. The ambiance is more grab and go. One thing to note is that their takeout takes forever, at least 40 minutes. They prioritize indoor dining first.

Came on a Friday around 5:30 pm and it wasn't too busy so we got seated right away. They have a QR code where you scan and order. The food came out about 10/15 min after ordering. You can pick from noodle rolls and dim sum to smaller bites and congee. We decided to try the black and gold molten lava bun which was filled with a runny egg custard like filling. It was tasty but the filling was very runny and would drip from each bite. I liked the pork and beef rice noodle roll! It came with bok choy pieces inside which could've been cut a bit smaller. The rice noodle was soft and it all mixed well with the sauce. We also tried the sliced pork, liver, and kidney congee for the variety. I wasn't a fan of the liver and kidney as much but the pork was good. The congee itself was flavored nicely and a good portion. Overall the prices were pretty reasonable. I liked the rice noodle roll and congee and would come back to try more! It started filling up as we were there so would recommend coming slightly earlier for no wait.
